The Youth Programs Officer Project provides activities, projects and programs for young people aged between 12 – 24yrs.

Coolaburoo provides the youth in our community with services, including:

 

After School Homework Help

The after School Homework Help project is run for students in yr6 to yr8 of school. Bring your homework, and receive some support in:

  • Mathematics
  • English
  • Assistance with assignments
  • Assistance with presentations

MOB – Movement of the Body! Hip – Hop Dance Classes
With Hernan - Dance Instructor & Choreographer

The Dance classes are offered to young people between 12 – 18yrs

Every Wednesday

At Revesby Community Hall,

Macarthur Avenue Revesby

5.30pm to 6.30pm.

Please note each class costs $4.00 or $35.00 per term.

Participants must also take home the permission slip provided signed by a parent or guardian and return the following week or will be unable to participate.

 

Through My Eyes Film Project –  Coming Soon!

This program will teach participants all about the world of movie making including;

  • Script Writing
  • Filming
  • Costumes
  • Hair & Make up
  • Editing

Participants will incorporate all of the above and more to produce a short movie or documentary.

 

School Holiday Program

Coolaburoo provides a range of fun low cost activities for young people aged 12 - 18yrs at the end of each school term. Events calendar available two weeks before end of term.

Please note: 

  • No one is permitted on activity without a signed permission note.
  • Activities book fast and work on a first in first served basis.
  • Payment must be made prior to activity and 48hr notice is required if you are unable to attend.

 

Combined School Holiday Program

This program is organised and provided by, Greenacre Neighbourhood Centre, Coolaburoo Neighbourhood Centre, Bankstown Multicultural Youth Service and Chester Hill Neighbourhood Centre.

The planned activity aims to provide opportunities for interactions between young people aged 12 - 18yrs living in the different wards of Bankstown.

 

CNC Summer Camp
The most anticipated activity of the year!!!

During the January summer holidays Coolaburoo invites young people from different back grounds and all walks of life to experience the great outdoors in the South Coast for five days and four nights. The camp provides all meals, accommodation, travel and activities for a fee of approx. $60 - $100. Please note cost varies depending on activities.

Why not come & join the fun at Coolaburoo. We have lots of exciting fun things to do!!!

The Program of Activities is divided into three categories; Educational, Social / Art and Recreational.

 

Yr 7 Here we comeComing Soon!

The project will provide workshops, information and activities that will help ease the transition from primary school to high school for both students and parents. 

 

Talking About my Generation –  Coming Soon!

The project will provide opportunities for young people to engage with older members of the community via, volunteering, workshops and activities. They will provide the backdrop for the production the ‘Talking about My Generation’ short documentary style film where all of the stories, pictures etc stemming from the activities will be put together to help promote understanding and dismiss stereo types amongst young and old. 

 

Young Women’s Group

The project aims at empowering young women 12 - 18yrs with both educational and recreational activities during school term.  Activities include;

  • Cooking
  • Art & Craft
  • Self Esteem / Self Image
  • Women’s Health
  • Etiquette
  • Self Care
  • Outings and more

Parent Information Sessions

The information sessions are aimed to help and support local parents and children with the sometimes difficult process of starting school, child rearing practices, nutrition etc.  Information sessions are organized depending on interest and number of requests, on topics including,

  • Starting kindy information
  • Local school information
  • Support services for children attending school (special needs)
  • Before and After School Care Information
  • Nutrition
  • Development stages
  • Child Rearing
  • Child’s play
  • Behavioral
  • Creative Arts Etc
